Lemlist Integration

Lemlist is an email outreach and sales engagement platform designed to help businesses automate and personalize their email campaigns, especially for lead generation, sales, and follow-ups. By connecting Lemlist to your Capsule account, you will have; contact information in a centralized place, be able to use contact information from Capsule to create more personalized Lemlist campaigns and streamline your sales process by automatically creating Opportunities in your pipeline.

What does the Lemlist integration do?

The Lemlist integration uses a webhook that looks for certain events in Lemlist to trigger actions in Capsule. During the set up of the integration you can define which Lemlist events create either a Contact, Opportunity or both in Capsule. For example, you may want all ‘First Outreach’ events in Lemlist to create a new contact, but only have the integration create an Opportunity when a Contact replies to an email in the campaign.

Depending upon the nature and volume of emails you send via Lemlist, configuring the integration only to create a new Contact in Capsule when they click a link in a campaign or accept a LinkedIn invitation could help you avoid your Capsule account being populated with lots of cold leads.

The Lemlist integration allows you to add your Capsule contacts to your existing Lemlist campaigns as well as view the status of Capsule contacts within different campaigns via the Lemlist Sidebar.

Setting up the Lemlist integration

Generating a new API key in Lemlist

The first step in setting up the integration requires you to create a new API key in Lemlist. If you haven’t yet signed up to Lemlist you should do that first and then follow the steps below;

1. Log in to your Lemlist account, click on your profile in the bottom left corner of the screen and select Settings > Integrations > click Generate to create the new API key.

2. Give the API key a meaningful name, e.g. Capsule and then click Create Key.

3. The API key will be generated and displayed on the screen. Click Copy.

Once you have created and copied the API key in Lemlist you will need to log in to Capsule and go to;

  1. Account Settings > Integrations > click the Configure button next to Lemlist.
  2. Enter the Lemlist API key you have just created and click Connect to Lemlist.

Now that your Lemlist and Capsule accounts are connected, you can configure which Lemlist triggers will create a new contact in Capsule and/or a new Opportunity.

You can also define which user or Team your Lemlist contacts are assigned to in Capsule.

And finally, you can define which Pipeline, Milestone and User/Team your new Opportunities are created under.

Lemlist Sidebar

With the Lemlist integration connected, when you view a contact in Capsule you will have access to the Lemlist Sidebar.

The sidebar provides a quick way to see which Lemlist campaigns the contact has been added to and, the contact’s lead status for each campaign. You can also add your Capsule contacts to Lemlist campaigns.
